Foster Brooks - Foster Does More in '94
Do any other Californians remember the major power outage right in the middle of this final episode and we ALL missed it?
There are only a few things I have against this show with the primary one being that it was too preachy concerning war. If they had toned it down slightly it would have been much more enjoyable.
He is just too good despite being a teetotaler.
Thank you for posting this! I haven’t seen this since it aired in 1983. I forgot so much how it ended. Brought back memories of a simpler time, those commercials were great! This was a real treat since TVLand doesn’t air the final.
The best clean comic!! And that singing voice at the end was great!
I take a back seat to no one in my complete adoration of M*A*S*H and the series finale was overall a wonderful closing of the curtain - except for the scene in the mess hall prior to Klinger's cloying wedding. What. A. Mess. Horribly written, poorly acted (except for Pierce, Winchester and Mulcahy) and apparently directed by a blind, incontinent bull elephant seal. Who were these people?! Why do we care where no-name extras brought in for one scene are going when the truce took hold? Why did the usually solid Hunnicutt act as if he were registering about a .28 blood alcohol content (seriously, watch his face during every shot he is in - he’s gone). Why the repeated establishing shot with the camera sitting on the table? Where did they get china and glassware (and why add to the work to break down the camp by using anything except paper plates and plastic cups)? Sure, Kellye wants to go to Honolulu, who doesn’t? I’m sure the army took one look at that application, laughed, and assigned her to ADAK. Who are the people that are going to Colorado? OCS? Walter Reed? Oklahoma? (yeah, I know it’s Mike Farrell’s real life wife - at the time). And for God’s sakes who is the goofball that thought he was so important that he had to stand and say, “I don’t know WHAT I’m gonna do!” Sorry. After over 40 years, this scene still irritates me to no end. A perfect series. A close to perfect series finale almost completely ruined by one 8-minute scene that was among the worst written, acted and directed segments in television history. Rant over. YMMV.
Great as usual.
Cried when it first aired, cry every time since😢
It sounds like a car crashing. I love it.
Such a classic show.
MIRACLES ALWAYS SO HELPFUL - LORD JESUS BE PRAISED!!!!!!!!!!
What a great series right after Vietnam. They created such a nostalgic and emotional feeling.
This is an amazing time capsule.. especially with the commercials. I grew up with MASH as a kid throughout the 70s. I was 21 when this episode aired.. and I didn't watch it because I had a date with my girlfriend that night. I recorded it on VHS.. which I've long since lost.. so thank you for sharing this!
😊
I miss good tv shows like this one
This was one of my favorite shows when I was a kid
MASH was certainly a great show - indeed, I have the whole series on DVD! Along with China Beach! Golden Girls! Third Rock from the Sun. And the iconic, Agatha Christie 's movies! Thks!!
Best sitcom ever.
10% interest!!! WOWOWOW
Thank you.
i can hear a light clicking noise of the camera here and there
I still enjoy reruns of “MASH,” particularly the first three years (with the original cast). But the show overstayed its welcome, lasting three times as long as the Korean War! I grew tired of its becoming a preachy vanity project for Alan Alda. This final episode is not something I would sit through again. Although there are a few interesting bits, it is overlong, disjointed, and contrived. Even with the additional time, it failed to capture the old balance of humour with the stresses of war. I would have welcomed more of Dr Freedman (without Alda’s melodramatics), along with the return of characters like General Clayton, Captain Pak, Mr Shin and yes, Colonel Flagg! A final poker game would have been fun (along with a last round of drinks, at Rosie’s or The Swamp). I also would have added a farewell to Sister Theresa and her orphanage. But incidents such as Hawkeye’s breakdown, then his feat of derring-do with the tank, BJ’s departure (and return), and Charles’s Korean orchestra are as artificial as Margaret’s platinum hairdo and manicured nails! And I could have done without the Great Kiss between Hawkeye and Margaret. “MASH” was a landmark series, but I was relieved to see it go!
Harry Morgan was arrested for beating his wife.😮 Look it up on Google.
"...she wouldn't eat her mushrooms." I'm in the floor 😂😂😂😂😂
I used to hate this show as a kid, now I can't get enough of it.😆
I saw him in Vegas long ago. He was fabulous. There will never be another comic this funny.
Anybody else notice the tank type changes from when it arrives to when pierce drives it away?
I didnt watch MASH the whole time it was out . But found it 2 yrs ago and have watched it every night since . Its so well written that current tv show don't hold a candle to the writing , actors and quality producing and editing . Love this show
If you haven't seen it you should also watch Don't Laugh You're Next. Another hilarious Foster Brooks show. It's about the same length as this one.
Thank you for uploading this I love this show ❤
My nightly routine for a very long time was 10:00 news, then MASH. I wish they would start running the reruns.
speaking of commercials. Im watching this on youtube. which commercials do you mean ?
😂😂😂
I'm listening to this in the middle of May, missing the loud summer nights fr...

This is christopher matway This is the most remembering momen the mash series
For me the best series were Mash, Taxi, Kung Fu, Lou Grant, mostly tv shows in the 70s to 80s. Mash covers all emotions perfectly!
Just have a look at 33:53. I know a lot of you weren’t around in the early 80’s, but inflation was such that savings accounts were paying 9.5% interest. That’s because mortgage rates were up around 15 percent. For anyone whining about inflation now, you need to get a grip. It’s been a lot worse, and we’re very lucky compared to the rest of the world right now.
The Simpson's at 1:28...."Dohhhh!"..
Interesting ; after Piece and Honeycut salute the Colonel as he rides away it is obvious his horse Sophie (she) is actually a male, gelding.
I loved this show
Trapper Hawkeye Burns Hotlips
1983 my graduation year
This is the weirdest nostalgia ever. For some reason I have vivid memories of this as a kid. It's hyper specific and I don't get it.
Really ght cooky
If you're reading this & this video is still up,i will return again.🎖️🙏📿🪽
Soon-Lee Klinger 🤔
We had M*A*S*H with no commercials and no laugh track here in the UK. These ads are so intrusive.
Wait no laugh track? Thats odd, I wonder why.
Gentleman and genius. Loved to have met him , maybe in heaven.
